FLIR Systems introduces the VSR-6More security professionals can benefit from the power of thermal imaging.
Again, FLIR Systems is bringing a revolutionary new product to the market. The VSR-6 will bring the power and benefits ofthermal imaging to many more security professionals.
Never has thermal imaging for security and surveillance applications been more affordable than today. Thanks toincreasing demand, resulting in high volume production, FLIR Systems is able to bring the prices of its thermalimaging cameras down. The new VSR-6 will be marketed for the revolutionary price of only €2,895/US$3,879*
The VSR-6 features the same thermal imaging technology found in many of FLIR’s most sophisticated security andsurveillance systems, but is packaged for users who have short-range security and surveillance as their primaryapplication. It includes FLIR’s advanced image processing techniques which deliver excellent contrast regardless ofscene dynamics.
The VSR-6 is a thermal imager that offers exceptional awareness in both day and night applications, both indoor andoutdoor, irrespective of the prevailing light level and weather conditions. It sees events that are missed by the nakedeye and conventional CCTV cameras, especially in total darkness, fog, and in smoke. Objects and people can no longerhide in the shadows, forests, bushes. Security staff can see them, monitor them and track them. Unlike other nightvision systems that require low amounts of light to generate an image, the VSR-6 needs no light at all.
The camera provides reliable round-the-clock awareness without the need for supplementary equipment. Itrepresents exceptional value for money, as simple plug and play allows quick and easy installation and set-up.
The 160x120 pixels detectors delivers crisp thermal images that can be displayed on virtually any existing display thataccepts composite video.
This new addition to the FLIR Systems’ security and surveillance range of thermal imaging cameras requires nosupplementary lighting which itself is often expensive to install, power and maintain and in some sensitive locations isalso considered too intrusive. Furthermore lighting essentially lays out a route of attack for intruders, creating shadowsin which to gain access undetected.
The VSR-6 creates a virtual security fence and if integrated into an existing CCTV infrastructure provides earlydetection and visibility 24/7 all year round.
Employing a proven long-wave 160 x 120 detector, the VSR-6, equipped with a 6 mm lens. This offers and extremelywide 52° field of view providing excellent situational awareness.
Thanks to volume production FLIR Systems has been able to commercialize thermal imaging technology effectivelymaking it affordable to a much greater range of potential users. The VSR-6 is a good example of this trend, offeringsignificant operational benefits at an attractive price.
